From the Trees Collective - It's Springtime Again

by Trees of Trees Foundation
April 28, 2000

It?s Springtime again!!! Dive in!! Take a long, wondrous swim! This miraculous green garden of life is beginning to burst with blossoms as the wheel once again turns.

After waking up from the slow and dormant Winter, many of us find ourselves overwhelmed by the ever-growing list of "to dos" accompanying Springtime ~ digging the garden beds, planting seeds, spring cleaning ~ while we continue already-full schedules at work. We get caught up in the "I can do it all" mode, even when we find we can?t. It?s difficult to reach out and ask for the help we all need at times, especially when everyone around you is just as busy. That is what Trees Foundation is for.

Just as the Spring inspires the flowers to smile at the sun, here at Trees Foundation Spring has also brought along with it a fresh sense of inspiration. We are inspired to most effectively help our Affiliate organizations in their important work to restore and preserve the magnificent, yet fragile forest ecosystems in which we live. We?re finding that the best way to determine the needs of our forest friendly family, and how Trees can best serve those needs, is simply to ask. Thus was born the position of Affiliate Outreach Coordinator. Francine Allen has recently moved into this exciting new role. Affiliates can expect a phone call and visit from her sometime this season, so think about what it is that Trees can do for you.

The bulbs we planted in the Fall have survived the Winter storms and now proudly present themselves to the world ~ to the humans that planted and nurtured them as well as to the many insects that their sweet nectar nurtures. Daffodils, wild iris, trillium, lilac, and wisteria bless us with their ability to slow us in our seemingly never-ending busy tracks, and indeed, stop to smell the flowers.
