Trees Foundation Features New Wide-format Printer!

Trees Foundation is pleased to announce our latest service available to our partner groups: large-scale printing!

Thanks to efforts by Hawk Rosales of the InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council, Lannan Foundation, Peter Nichols of Humboldt Baykeeper, and Scott Lamorte of Trees Foundation, Trees has acquired a new HP DesignJet 5500 printer. Lannan Foundation awarded the Council a $5,000 grant that the Council, with Lannan Foundation's approval, earmarked as a contribution toward Trees' new printer. Humboldt Baykeeper also contributed $2,500 toward the purchase of this GIS printer. We thank you all!

The printer can print almost four feet wide and any length long. It uses a six-ink photographic-quality imaging system and can produce beautiful large photo images as well as large-sized maps and posters. With the archive inks and papers option, the prints can be expected to last an estimated 200 years without fading. We've also purchased outdoor banner material capable of making three-foot tall banners that will resist sun, wind, and some moisture; perfect for festival displays and info booths. Printing is amazingly fast, sometimes as little as ten minutes for a three-by-five foot poster.

In addition to our new printer, Trees Foundation has a new slide scanner available for use in our office.
