Northwestern California, at the southern extreme of the world's largest coastal temperate rainforest, receives more rain than any other region in the state. Water flows through our watersheds supporting incredible native biodiversity. However, over 75% of North Coast rivers are classified as polluted by the U.S. EPA, native salmon are teetering on extinction, and once bountiful rivers now run dry. Trees Foundation's two newest partners discuss the state of water along the North Coast. The Klamath Restoration Council addresses the cultural and ecological recovery of the longest river in the state, and Humboldt Baykeeper monitors the second largest bay in California, the toxic threats it faces, and many other environmental issues.
