Bay Area Coalition for Headwaters

Campaign to Restore Jackson State Redwood Forest
The mission of the Campaign to Restore Jackson State Redwood Forest is to restore the 50,000 acres of publicly owned Jackson State redwood timberland to an old-growth forest for habitat, recreation, education and research.

Central Coast Forest Watch
Central Coast Forest Watch (CCFW) is the new kid on the block. Formed in 2007, CCFW is just getting its feet wet in local forest issues. CCFW's staff person, Jodi Frediani, a long-time forest advocate, has kept busy this season on a number of projects.
Committee for the Sinkyone
The Committee for the Sinkyone works to restore the Sinkyone Coastal Wilderness and supports ongoing Native American participation in determining the SCW's future.
Eel River Salmon Restoration Project
ERSRP's mission is to restore the health of salmon and steel-head populations in the Eel River watershed through the use of small-scale hatcheries, habitat-enhancement projects, biological and physical monitoring programs, and public education.

The Environmental Protection Information Center (EPIC) is a community-based organization working to protect and restore forests, watersheds, coastal estuaries, and native species in Northwest California. EPIC uses an integrated, science-based approach that combines education, advocacy, and strategic litigation.
Environmentally Sound Promotions
The mission of ESP is to use media, music, and the arts to catalyze environmental activism. ESP promotes rallies and concerts, produces educational, morale-boosting environmental music recordings, documentaries, and publications, and provides public relations services.
Friends of Small Places
Friends of Small Places is a local organization concerned with the impacts to small rural neighborhoods and river ecosystems by heavy industrial operations, including gravel mining and crushing, and asphalt and concrete production. Our mission is the protection of rivers, watersheds, riparian habitats and the human communities along our rivers and watersheds from the negative impacts of inadequately regulated gravel mining and its industrial processing. We hope to achieve our goals by advocating permit compliance and enforcement, educating the public and raising awareness of the negative impacts of surface mining and by bringing people together to support our rivers and watersheds.
Friends of Yosemite Valley
The mission of the FoYV is to protect and restore the wildness and natural systems of Yosemite through advocacy, education, and action, and to further sustainable, equitable interaction with Yosemite's natural environment.

Institute for Sustainable Forestry
Promoting forest management that contributes to the long-term ecological and economic well being of forest-based communities in northwestern California, the Institute for Sustainable Forestry's (ISF) main programs include forest and watershed stewardship, community economic development, and sustainable forestry certification support.
InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council
Founded in 1986, the InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council is a Native Peoples' environmental organization charged with re-establishing California Indian stewardship within the North Coast's Sinkyone region through land conservation, habitat restoration, and traditional resource management. ITSWC owns and manages the 3,845-acre InterTribal Wilderness Park, located immediately east of the 8,100-acre Sinkyone Wilderness State Park.
Klamath Restoration Council
Klamath Restoration Council's mission is to restore and protect the uniquely diverse ecosystem and natural resources of the entire Klamath River watershed. We believe this will be accomplished with actions and legislation that integrate sound and proven techniques based on tribal knowledge, local experience and the best of Western science.
Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center
The Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center works to protect and restore the outstanding biological diversity of the Klamath-Siskiyou and south Cascadian Ecoregions of southwest Oregon and Northwestern California. K-S Wild use environmental law, science, and education and collaboration to defend healthy ecosystems and help build sustainable communities.
Mattole Restoration Council
The Mattole Restoration Council is an organization of landowners and residents dedicated to the protection and restoration of natural systems in the Mattole River watershed.
Mattole Salmon Group
Citizens in the Mattole region formed the Mattole Salmon Group (MSG) in 1980, the first watershed-wide, entirely citizen-run effort in the Pacific Northwest to begin restoring native salmon runs. Over the years MSG has released more than 400,000 juvenile salmon into the Mattole River and its tributaries. MSG's programs include direct enhancements such as a hatchbox program and "rescue rearing," habitat restoration, monitoring and research, and community education and outreach.
Middle Mattole Conservancy
The mission of the MMC is to encourage and provide for the responsible stewardship of our lands and waterways through outreach, education, and restoration, and to aid in the recovery of our lands and enhance the future connectivity for many rare, threatened, and endangered species that inhabit Redwoods State Park and Gilham Butte.
Mill Creek Watershed Conservancy
MCWC was formed for the preservation and restoration of forest and grassland within the Mill Creek Watershed and other tributaries of the Mattole River in southern Humboldt and northern Mendocino counties.

NACH works to preserve Headwaters Forest and other areas of critical habitat for endangered species through restoration, creation of wildlife corridors, educational forums and evaluation of forestry practices.
Piercy Watersheds Association
PWA provides a public forum and organization to stimulate a vibrant and wild environment for the eleven Piercy watersheds. This includes no clear-cutting, tree-by-tree management, restoration forestry, and community standards.
Restoration Leadership Project
The Restoration Leadership Project works with numerous stakeholder groups, non-profits, and government agency personnel to achieve ecosystem recovery by initiating and maintaining coalitions, associations, and campaigns among community watershed restoration and protection groups.

Salmon Protection and Watershed Network (SPAWN)
SPAWN works to protect threatened coho salmon and steelhead trout and the environment on which all species depend. SPAWN's belief is that the protection of these keystone species leads to the protection of all wildlife, and the protection of ourselves and the land.
Salmon River Restoration Council
The mission of our organization is to assess, protect, and maintain the Salmon River ecosystems with the active participation of the local community, focusing on the anadromous fisheries resource and the development of a sustainable economy.
Salmonid Restoration Federation
The mission of the SRF is to help restore California's salmonid resources by informing and educating the individuals, groups, and agencies involved in the restoration and management of these resources.
Sanctuary Forest
